Caribbean Cellular Telephone (CCT) Boatphone joins forces with ZBVI to Improve Weather Service

The 1996 Hurricane season was unexpectedly busy and CCT Boatphone's weather fax service helped to keep the community informed. Anyone with access to a fax machine was able to retrieve up to the minute weather information from the Office of Disaster Preparedness. But now there is more.

CCT has now increased this free service with updated reports by the Caribbean Weatherman, David Jones from ZBVI. Now you can hear up to the minute weather information from any touch tone phone for the cost of a local call. Here is how it works:

From a Fax Machine

  • Dial 69000
  • During the greeting dial:
    • 1 for the ODP weather fax, or
    • 3 for a copy of ZBVI's BVI forecast, or
    • 4 for a copy of ZBVI's Marine Forecast
  • Press the star (*) key on your fax when prompted
  • Press start when prompted

From a Touch Tone Phone

  • Dial 6900
  • During the greeting dial 2 to hear ZBVI's latest forecast
